Instructor and Studio Manager
Christine has been captivated by making since she was a child. She found metalsmithing by taking an elective at Wayne State University, and fell in love with the craft. She has been practicing metalsmithing for 7 years, and enjoys many other art forms in her spare time. She is most inspired by nature, and strives to show it at its best and most interesting. Collecting stones and flora for many years, she utilizes casting to create beautiful pieces of art in her jewelry. She loves to use silver, found objects, and mixed media. She is currently building a series that uses all found and cast objects from Michigan.
She absolutely loves teaching at Frits & Friends; especially seeing the excitement of first time students falling in love with the craft, and the empowerment it brings us all.
Christine received her BFA from Wayne State University, and has shown locally in Detroit as well as Ann Arbor.
